1-to-1 Sound Therapy
Individual energy work is a holistic practice that involves balancing the body’s electromagnetic field (aura) to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Bodies are like history books. Each one tells a story of its trials, victories, good habits, and limitations. As we go through life, our story gets longer and more nuanced. As they say, we contain multitudes.
One of the most challenging aspects of navigating this complex life, is that sometimes our physical and emotional selves know what to do. We even know why we need to do it. Yet, we can't seem to get there - even when we are convicted. Sometimes, we need a helping hand.
Energy work is the helping hand to support you in processing stored emotions which you might mentally have made peace with, but your body is stuck in a mode like you're still experiencing an unresolved emotion. Some examples of this include grief and loss of a loved one, anxiety and worry, self-perpetuating doubt or fear in your chest, sadness that won't leave, and stress you keep eliminating from your life but you still can't seem to sleep. It's the appearance of a mysterious auto-immune disorder and the, 'but I talked it out in therapy' feeling that might mean it's time for an energy worker. Sound therapy is the type of energy work Attune practices.
Before you read any further, it's important to state clearly - energy work is not a magical fix-it solution where suddenly your mind is clear, you never think about the issue again, and you feel like a million bucks. More accurately, energy work is where the practitioner attunes to your emotional and physical state and using instruments (tuning forks, singing bowls, acupuncture needles, hands) identifies where these emotions are that are causing imbalance in your body and helps you fully feel them so that you can release the stored emotion. Sometimes this elicits tears, laughter and other times it's a quiet and gentle feeling of relief.
Results depend on the issue - if you're pre-diabetic from chronic inflammation - but the root of that chronic inflammation is stress from worrying you're going to lose this job like you lost the last one. We can likely support you in releasing this worry which might lower the inflammatory response. If your left shoulder has developed a bone spur from rounding forward due to the constant need to protect your heart from a challenging relationship - a reflexive motion we often make - we cannot fix the bone spur, but we can support a safe and gentle release of the emotion. The most important part of achieving a good result is the intent you and the practitioner have to release and restore balance. If you feel half hearted, the treatment will too. It's about a commitment to doing 'the work' and the practitioner creating a safe and caring environment for you to feel comfortable enough to be with your emotions.

How does a session feel and what can you expect to happen?
A session is a relaxing 90-minute process where you are laying on a cozy treatment table, fully relaxed. Using different sound instruments, the practitioner will work with each area of your body where there is an energetic imbalance and seek to slow down overactive areas, speed up underactive areas, and remove any blockages.
1. Grounding & Vitality Increase - The practitioner spends time on your feet and head grounding your energy and increasing your Qi. This allows your body to be centered and relaxed as preparation for the session. This is intentional relaxation for you to be fully present and available.
2. Biofield Combing & Emotional Balancing - The practitioner goes through each area of your body - including in the field 6 feet on either side - and above your body - balancing energy and releasing stored emotions. This does not require any work from you and provides a gentle and calming sensation to the mind and spirit.
3. Insight & Guidance - If it's of interest to you, the practitioner will share what information was stored in the biofield, including emotions and experiences that might be informative for you to know. Claircognizance and clairaudience are abilities which the practitioner has received as methods of understanding what the underlying cause of your stressors might be and how they can be worked with so as not to recreate the issue. There is much research to suggest that our memories are stored not just in our mind and body but in the biofield around us, much like when we store digital information, 'in the cloud'. By sharing this information stored in the field with you, you leave with more information about how you can continue integrating the work we did. Given this is not a commonplace protocol in Western sciences, this is not a required step but is recommended for the full experience.
